Previously built as an internal venue for this world renowned agricultural research institute, the Conference Centre’s usage had become less frequent. The newly appointed CEO approached us to work with the sales team to help establish a much more commercial environment and implement new processes to accommodate this.
Starting with a Sales Office Audit, we reviewed the workings of the Sales Office and made recommendations for the future team structure suggesting improvements on procedures, standards and policies. We then set timescales and priorities to mentor the team on areas of the business such as creating a sales and marketing plan, looking at budget figures and implementing accurate reporting systems.
We set up a telesales campaign firstly of agents and then companies within the agricultural field to generate awareness of the venue. Quite quickly a telesales person was employed and this was handed back to the venue to continue with.
As the new sales structure was implemented and the team became more commercially aware we then returned on an ad hoc basis to mentor and assist with areas of the sales office that required fine tuning and tailor made consultancy.
